 PRESS RELEASE: 2/12/2008 - New Zealand Domain Auction Service to be launched on 7th December

We are pleased to announce that on the on 7th December, we will be launching our New Zealand (.NZ) domain name auction service. This will allow our domain name clients to bid on .NZ domain names that are in the 'Pending Release' period.
'Pending Release' in simple terms is the grace period, 90 days after a domain has expired, during which time the current owner of the domain can still renew the domain name. The auction system will automatically attempt to register the domain name as soon as the 90 day 'Pending Release' period ends, giving the top bidder for the domain, a very good chance of securing the domain name. Please note that the top bidder in a domain auction is not guaranteed to secure the domain name, as the original owner may renew the domain name during the 90 day 'Pending Release' stage. Also other automated registration systems like ours, may also be trying to register the expired domain, and they may acquire it first.
Our Domain Auction service will be integrated into our Domain Manager system, which you can find at www.domains.loungenetwork.co.nz. The auction system will be managed by a separate entity, and should you be successful, they will contact you directly to arrange payment.
This auction system will offer many cool features, including finding out how many website currently link to the domain, and it's current website ranking on the internet. This all helps to show how valuable the domain may be to your website.
